1. There was some deadline news after all

Last week’s trade deadline was of almost no interest. But we did, it turns out, get a three-way is-he-available-off. 

From an ESPN article that dropped this morning, we learned that …

  1. The Warriors asked the Lakers if LeBron was available for trade. The Lakers, LeBron and Rich Paul all collectively said no. 

  2. Separately, 76ers GM Daryl Morey also asked the Lakers if LeBron was available. 

  3. Presumably annoyed, Lakers GM Rob Pelinka responded by asking Morey if Joel Embiid was available. (He wasn’t.) 

  4. Also, unrelated to the Lakers, Morey reportedly asked the Suns if KD, Devin Booker or Bradley Beal were available, which is a pretty good window into how annoying Morey must be to deal with.
